Type: This is an open, heterogeneous, skills group comprised of the students enrolled in the Vantage Point by Aspiro program. Admission criteria for the group is to be enrolled in Vantage Point by Aspiro. There are 2 girls, 5 boys. Ages 13-17.

5 days for 30 minutes.

Topics Discussed/taught: Stress management
Day 1: Overview of what is stress. Begin brainstorming what causes stress for each individual in our group.
Day 2: Learn to recognize the signs and symptoms (physical and emotional) of when you are stressed.
Day 3: Identifying ways to reduce stress in stressful times – What do I do (physically and emotionally) to reduce stress?
Day 4: Identify what we can do now to prevent becoming overly stressed (physical and emotional).
Day 5: Putting it all together – review and have a de-stressing activity. – learning meditation and deep breathing (by Yoga instructor Tim Lewis).

Icebreaker: Deep breathing - Tim
Discussion: Review of what stress is, what are the signs we see in ourselves, way to reduce and prevent in the future led by Jessica
De-stressing activity: Mindfulness Mediation led by Tim.
Final questions and comments led by Jessica
